WhisperKOOL 2500 Wine Cabinet Cooling System
A compact, self-contained cooling system for wine cabinets — the upgraded replacement for WhisperKOOL's 1000–2800 Cabinet units.
2500 Cabinet System Key Features & Benefits
Purpose-Built for Cabinets
The upgraded 2500 Cabinet system is engineered specifically for wine cabinets and small enclosures, delivering reliable cooling in a compact footprint.
Drop-In Upgrade Path
It's designed to replace WhisperKOOL's 1000, 1100, 1200, 2300, 2500, and 2800 Cabinet cooling units, making it a straightforward upgrade for existing cabinets.
Self-Contained Simplicity
Everything is in one compact unit — no separate condenser to place or field-charge.
Efficient, Low-Draw Operation
A 1/8 HP compressor on a standard 120V circuit keeps power draw low (3.2 running amps).

Where It Fits in the Range
The 2500 Cabinet system is WhisperKOOL's dedicated wine-cabinet cooler and the modern replacement for the 1000–2800 Cabinet line. For full wine rooms or cellars, see the self-contained Slimline, SC Pro, Extreme, or Phantom lines.
A Note on Sizing
The cellar-size rating assumes a fully insulated room with a complete vapor barrier. Design factors such as glass walls, stone or concrete, high ambient temperatures, frequent door openings, or in-cellar lighting can increase the cooling load. When in doubt, choose the next capacity up — an undersized unit can run continuously, fail to reach temperature, and is not covered under warranty. We're happy to help you run the numbers.
Installation & Setup
The 2500 is a compact self-contained cabinet unit. Plan a dedicated circuit and ventilated space around the condenser side before installation.
Pre-Installation Requirements
- Well-sealed, insulated cabinet or small enclosure
- Dedicated 120V, 15-amp circuit
- Ventilated space for the condenser/exhaust side
- Clearance for airflow and service
Placement & Airflow
- Mount so the exhaust side has free airflow
- Keep the exhaust area ventilated and unobstructed
- Do not recirculate exhaust air back to the intake
- Allow service clearance around the unit
Best Practices
- Seal cabinet air leaks and confirm insulation
- Keep the cabinet door gasket in good condition
- Avoid placing the unit near additional heat sources
- Verify the temperature setting after install
Maintenance
- Keep condenser coils clean and clear of debris
- Check the controller reading periodically
- Confirm free airflow around the unit
- Schedule an annual professional inspection
