WhisperKOOL Fully Ducted Extreme 8000tiR Wine Cellar Cooler
A fully ducted, self-contained cooler with variable-speed fans for large cellars up to 2,000 cu. ft. β mounted out of sight and ducted into the cellar for quiet, concealed cooling.
Fully Ducted Extreme 8000tiR Key Features & Benefits
Fully Ducted Design
The tiR adds duct plenums to WhisperKOOL's most powerful self-contained platform, so the unit can be mounted out of sight (attic, closet, or mechanical room) and ducted into the cellar for a clean, concealed look.
Variable-Speed Fan Technology
Variable-speed fans modulate to match demand, lowering noise and improving efficiency versus fixed-speed systems.
Liquid-Temperature Bottle Probe
The digital control reads the true temperature of your wine, not just the air, keeping the cellar at proper aging conditions.
Dual-Refrigerant Ready
Built for R-134a / R-513a, aligning with current lower-GWP refrigerant standards.
Flexible Power
Runs on a standard 115V, 20-amp dedicated circuit (230V subject to availability).

Where It Fits in the Range
The fully ducted Extreme tiR line covers cellars up to 800 cu. ft. (3500tiR), 1,250 cu. ft. (5000tiR), and 2,000 cu. ft. (8000tiR). A through-the-wall version of each is also available. Confirm sizing with a heat-load calculation before ordering.
A Note on Sizing
The cellar-size rating assumes a fully insulated room with a complete vapor barrier. Design factors such as glass walls, stone or concrete, high ambient temperatures, frequent door openings, or in-cellar lighting can increase the cooling load. When in doubt, choose the next capacity up β an undersized unit can run continuously, fail to reach temperature, and is not covered under warranty. We're happy to help you run the numbers.
Installation & Setup
The Extreme tiR is a self-contained, fully ducted unit β one piece, no separate condenser. Plan supply and return duct runs, a dedicated circuit, and a ventilated location before installation.
Pre-Installation Requirements
- Fully insulated cellar with a complete vapor barrier (min. R-19)
- Dedicated 115V, 20-amp circuit
- Ventilated location for the unit (attic, closet, mechanical room)
- Supply and return duct runs planned
- 1/2" ID drain line routed to a suitable drain
Placement & Airflow
- Mount the unit out of the cellar and duct air in
- Keep the exhaust/condenser side ventilated and unobstructed
- Do not recirculate exhaust air back to the intake
- Allow service clearance around the unit
Cellar Design Best Practices
- Maintain consistent insulation and seal all air leaks
- Complete the vapor barrier on the warm side of the insulation
- Install a properly weatherstripped cellar door
- Plan rack layout for good air circulation
Maintenance
- Keep condenser coils clean and clear of debris
- Check the digital controller and bottle probe periodically
- Inspect the drain line for free flow
- Schedule an annual professional inspection
