WhisperKOOL Ceiling Mount Twin Split Wine Cellar Cooling System
A dual-evaporator ceiling-mounted split system for large cellars up to 3,000 cu. ft. — two overhead evaporators paired with remotely mounted, high-efficiency condensers for balanced, redundant cooling.
Ceiling Mount Twin Key Features & Benefits
Dual Ceiling Design for Large Cellars
Two evaporators install overhead to cover cellars up to 3,000 cu. ft. with even temperature distribution — while keeping wall and floor space completely clear.
220V High-Efficiency Condensers
Oversized condenser coils maintain strong cooling even in hot mechanical rooms, and the 220V high-efficiency design draws roughly 50% less power than comparable 110V units while holding a 55°F cellar.
Built-In Redundancy
With two independent systems, your cellar keeps cooling even if one unit needs service — valuable protection for a large collection.
Precise Digital Control
Advanced digital displays (50-ft cables) work with liquid-temperature-measuring bottle probes, so the thermostats read the true temperature of your wine rather than the air.
Flexible Placement
Each condenser can be located up to 100 line feet from its evaporator, giving you room to place equipment in a mechanical room, basement, garage, or rooftop.

Where It Fits in the Range
The Ceiling Mount Twin uses two 9000-class evaporators for cellars up to 3,000 cu. ft. For even greater capacity, the Ceiling Mount Twin 12000 pairs two 12000-class systems. Single-evaporator options include the Ceiling Mount 4000 and 8000. Always confirm sizing with a heat-load calculation before ordering.
A Note on Sizing
The cellar-size rating assumes a fully insulated room with a complete vapor barrier. Design factors such as glass walls, stone or concrete, high ambient temperatures, frequent door openings, or in-cellar lighting can increase the cooling load. When in doubt, choose the next capacity up — an undersized unit can run continuously, fail to reach temperature, and is not covered under warranty. We're happy to help you run the numbers.
Installation & Setup
Professional installation required: WhisperKOOL split systems must be installed by a qualified, licensed HVAC/R technician. Installation by anyone else will void the warranty.
Pre-Installation Requirements
- Fully insulated cellar with a complete vapor barrier
- Evaporators: dedicated 120V, 15-amp circuits
- Condensers: dedicated 220V, 15-amp circuits (or 110V for the OMEGA option)
- Adequate ceiling depth and support for both evaporators
- Line sets sized per run length (not included)
Placement & Distances
- Evaporators mount into the cellar ceiling for balanced airflow
- Each condenser up to 100 line ft from its evaporator
- Condensers can sit in a mechanical room, basement, garage, or rooftop
- Provide clear airflow around each condenser
- Route 1/4" ID drain lines from the evaporators
Cellar Design Best Practices
- Maintain consistent insulation and seal all air leaks
- Install a properly weatherstripped cellar door
- Complete the vapor barrier on the warm side of the insulation
- Position evaporators for even coverage of a large room
Maintenance
- Keep condenser coils clean and clear of debris
- Check the digital controllers and bottle probes periodically
- Inspect the drain lines for free flow
- Schedule an annual professional inspection
