Quantum SS9000 Key Features & Benefits

Built for Large Cellars

The Quantum SS9000 is a heavy-duty ducted split rated for cellars up to 3,000 cu. ft., moving up to 710 CFM through 14" supply and return ducts for even cooling across big rooms.

220V High-Efficiency Condenser

The 220V high-efficiency condenser holds a 55°F cellar even in demanding mechanical rooms, with an engineered ambient operating range of -20°F to 120°F.

Fully Ducted, Concealed Design

The evaporator installs up to 25 duct feet from the cellar and is ducted in, so no equipment is visible in your wine room.

Precise Digital Control

An advanced digital display (50-ft cable) works with a liquid-temperature-measuring bottle probe, so the thermostat reads the true temperature of your wine rather than the air.

Condenser Choice

Available with the 220V Standard H.E. condenser or a 220V Copeland condenser — select the option that fits your installation at checkout.

Where It Fits in the Range

The Quantum SS9000 is the entry point to the high-capacity Quantum series, rated for cellars up to 3,000 cu. ft. For larger rooms, step up to the Quantum SS12000 (up to 4,000 cu. ft.) or the twin-evaporator Quantum SS18000 and SS24000. Always confirm sizing with a heat-load calculation before ordering.

A Note on Sizing

The cellar-size rating assumes a fully insulated room with a complete vapor barrier. Design factors such as glass walls, stone or concrete, high ambient temperatures, frequent door openings, or in-cellar lighting can increase the cooling load. When in doubt, choose the next capacity up — an undersized unit can run continuously, fail to reach temperature, and is not covered under warranty. We're happy to help you run the numbers.

Installation & Setup

Professional installation required: WhisperKOOL split systems must be installed by a qualified, licensed HVAC/R technician. Installation by anyone else will void the warranty.

Pre-Installation Requirements

  • Fully insulated cellar with a complete vapor barrier
  • Evaporator: dedicated 120V, 15-amp circuit
  • Condenser: dedicated 220V, 15-amp circuit
  • 14" supply / 14" return duct runs planned (up to 25 ft each)
  • Line set sized per run length (not included)

Placement & Distances

  • Evaporator ducted up to 25 duct ft from the cellar
  • Condenser up to 100 line ft from the evaporator
  • Condenser can sit in a mechanical room, basement, garage, or rooftop
  • Provide clear airflow around the condenser
  • Route a 3/4" drain line from the evaporator base

Cellar Design Best Practices

  • Maintain consistent insulation and seal all air leaks
  • Install a properly weatherstripped cellar door
  • Complete the vapor barrier on the warm side of the insulation
  • Plan duct routing for even coverage of a large room

Maintenance

  • Keep condenser coils clean and clear of debris
  • Check the digital controller and bottle probe periodically
  • Inspect the drain line for free flow
  • Schedule an annual professional inspection

As an authorized WhisperKOOL dealer, we're glad to help you start your claim and coordinate with WhisperKOOL.

Limited warranty applies only to wine cooling units purchased directly from WhisperKOOL or through an authorized dealer. Damage caused by others or beyond WhisperKOOL's control is not considered a defect in material or workmanship and is not covered. Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the H.E. and Copeland condensers?

Both cool the same evaporator. The 220V Standard H.E. condenser is the high-efficiency option that draws less power; the 220V Copeland condenser is a higher-horsepower compressor option. Your installer can help you choose based on your ambient conditions.

Do I need a professional to install it?

Yes. Split systems require installation by a qualified, licensed HVAC/R technician; installation by anyone else voids the warranty.

How far can the equipment be placed?

The ducted evaporator can be up to 25 duct feet from the cellar, and the condenser up to 100 line feet from the evaporator.
