BTU/h Range
3,848 – 5,351
The BTU/h value shown here is a theoretical range. Cellar design factors not accounted for in the formula — such as glass, stone, or concrete construction — can require a larger unit than the baseline calculation suggests. We recommend purchasing a unit with capacity above the calculated minimum: an undersized unit can lead to premature failure and may prevent the cellar from reaching your desired temperature. Frequently Asked Questions

Can this cooling system be hidden in a soffit?

Yes — soffit installation is one of the Blow-Through 4000's intended applications. It can be positioned in a soffit, ceiling cavity, custom cabinet, attic, or adjacent mechanical space, with airflow directed into the cellar through your chosen ducted, ductless, or hybrid configuration.

What's the difference between the ducted, ductless, and hybrid airflow kits?

The ducted kit connects both supply and return air to insulated ductwork, giving the most flexibility in equipment placement. The ductless kit uses directional deflectors for both airflow paths — well suited to soffits and cabinetry with short, direct airflow. The hybrid kit ducts one side while using a deflector on the other, useful when only one airflow path needs to reach a remote register.

Do I need a professional to install this system?

Yes. This is a split refrigeration system that must be installed, commissioned, and charged by a qualified, licensed HVAC/R technician. Installation by an unqualified party will void the warranty, and the split-system warranty checklist must be completed by the installing technician before coverage is activated.

Is this a good fit for a glass wine cellar?

Glass wine cellars are listed among the Blow-Through 4000's ideal applications by WhisperKOOL, alongside residential wine rooms, commercial wine displays, and custom millwork. As with any cellar type, we recommend a professional heat-load calculation to confirm the right configuration for your specific space before ordering.

How large of a wine cellar can the Blow-Through 4000 cool?

Cellar capacity depends on your chosen airflow configuration and condenser selection — ducted, ductless, and hybrid setups each have different effective capacities, since ductwork affects airflow delivery. Check the Product Specification Sheet for exact capacity by configuration, and we recommend a professional heat-load calculation to confirm the right setup for your space.
